Fact Check of Episode 8
/Episode 8 is posted so please check out the Podcast section of our website to listen to our weekly show. It was an exciting weekend to kick off the NCAA Wrestling season. Thanks again to Michigan State for having us Sunday. It was a great day of wrestling viewing for sure.
- It seemed like we skimmed over the major victories of the All-Star Classic with Mike McMullan (Northwestern) & Scott Schiller (Minnesota) beating defending NCAA Champs Nick Gwiazdowski (NC State) & J'Den Cox (Missouri) respectively. I think if Schiller stays healthy he will win the NCAA Championship this year, and McMullan looked like an absolute beast. McMullan finished 3rd as a freshman, 2nd as a sophomore, and 3rd as a junior. Don't be surprised if he is on the top of the podium come March.
- Mark Martin (Ohio State) is ranked 10th and is a junior.
- Shane Hughes (Columbia) won his first match in just 15 seconds with the amazing throw that Kevin was excitedly describing. He did drop a couple matches on the day dropping his Flowrestling ranking from 16 to 18.
- We mentioned the unfortunate news that projected Michigan starter at 174 Jordan Thomas (Michigan) not being able to wrestle this year and possibly in the future. Here is a video of him and Gabe Dean (Cornell) wrestling as seniors in high school.
