It was a dual that featured both lineups not at full strength. While both teams have some of the premier individuals in college wrestling, depth is neither team's strong suit. In the end Ohio State clipped Illinois 22-17.
There were three truly feature matches of the day. However, the match that decided it was when backup 285 Thomas Haines (OSU) was able to ride #13 Brooks Black to win 3-2. With Illinois' bonus points in other wins, this would have gave the home team the win.
A couple top ten matchups happened when Bo Jordan handled Rodrigues. Also, Zane Richards dominated every position against DiJulius.
Jake Ryan has looked really good for the Buckeyes in his freshman season, but that didn't stop Isiah Martinez from dismantling him. It's amazing what Martinez is doing and always a pleasure to watch.
