The thing about international wrestling is it gets to combine my love for geography with the greatest sport in the world. The qualification process for the Olympics is quite interesting as many countries pull out all the stops in their hopes for Olympic representatives and medals. Similar to the Pan Am Qualifiers, that were a disaster for the United States in Frisco (Texas), placing top two in each weight means a ticket to Rio. If not, it's on to Mongolia with nine of our Americans.
If you are like me, I have a couple links for you. Follow along on the United World Wrestling website for videos and more. (https://unitedworldwrestling.org)
There is also a really helpful wikipedia page here. It's like the fascinating World Cup (soccer) qualification wiki that displays all the ways almost every country on the globe tries to qualify for that thing. Many don't understand the qualifying so this wiki page helps, and even shows you brackets from the qualifiers.
