Michigan Grinds Buckeyes!
/Michigan took seven out of ten matches in Columbus to take the rivalry match to improve to 2-0 in the Big Ten this season. Many, including myself, had the dual as a five & five toss-up, but the Wolverines had other plans.
Rossi Bruno, who had struggled so far this season, beat Johnni DiJulius 4-1 building up almost three minutes of riding time following a quick takedown to start the match. The other upset was when Davonte Mahomes ruined the home debut of freshman Myles Martin 3-1 in overtime. The match was not as much scoring as one would expect as both never seemed to create any openings, but a snap down to a single about 10 seconds in to overtime finished the match for Mahomes.
Hunter Steiber made his season debut after having surgery on both elbows following the NCAA tournament. #8 Pantaleo had other plans than a warm welcome for the senior Buckeye and beat him 5-3.
Michigan will return home Friday for another top ten match-up with Illinois. I hope to see you there!
